Castelvecchio di Compito
The fortified town of Castelvecchio is located on the edges of Compitese and Pisa, in a strategic position. Like Ruota, it was one of the scenaries of the wars for the possession of the area between Pisa and Lucca.
From here and, for examples, from the little hills of Calvario, people can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the valley. The church of Saint Andrew and its bell tower offer an important evidence of romanic tradition.
