A cozy environment and a family atmosphere in a stone farmhouse with a splendid view.
We are Giulio and Arianna and together we manage il Leopoldino, an agriturismo surrounded by 5 acres of olive grove. In our old farmhouse you can taste the products of our land cooked in a traditional and homely way. You can relax, lulled by the sound of the wind among the olive trees, by the bleating of our goats and braying of our four donkeys.
Our agricultural activity focuses on the production of extra virgin olive oil (EVO); we also have a vegetable garden, some beehives to produce honey and a small herd of chickens and rabbits. These activities, along with what the land spontaneously gives us, allow us to live according to natural rhythms, following the slow flow of the seasons.
On the Monte Pisano, and especially at the Leopoldino, life is sincere and spontaneous, inspired by simple things, like making bread. A human ritual that we share with our guests who can take courses to learn the ancient alchemy of making bread.
The proximity to the sea and mountains makes the Leopoldino a unique place, which allows travelers to choose every day different landscapes, places and destinations.
You can swim and spend quiet days on the seaside. You can go hiking in the nature, starting directly from the Leopoldino and with our donkeys, if you wish.
Together with your children, you will live the authentic experience of country life in direct contact with nature and with the animals of our farm. You can dine and relax on our terrace and enjoy the magnificent view of the plain of Pisa up to Livorno.
We were not born on Monte Pisano but we chose to live there, surrounded by the mountains that separate Pisa from Lucca. We fell in love with these places, with the lush and changing nature.
As strangers we found new friends, because the welcome and hospitality are inherent the Monte Pisano. We found people who share the same ideals of a simple and genuine life which follows the rhythms of nature. These are the friends upon whom we rely to carry out our work with care. Like Cesare, from the Giusti Butchery for meat and sausages, or Benito, from the mill of Rigoli for our bread flour.
For activities we rely upon the knowledge of other friends or network operators. For walking and hiking we can count on Michele, a guide from VadoeVedo. For relaxation and spa treatments, we use the Terme di San Giuliano. For special dinners prepared with care, there is the Locanda Sant’Agata. To bring home a bit of the Monte Pisano, our guests can go to Mi Garba Bio organic Shop to buy local genuine products.
Sharing, family atmosphere and sincere availability are our hallmarks.
Benvenuti to Leopoldino! Welcome to the Monte Pisano!
