From the small hillside village of Valgiano, the trail initially winds through dry stone walls and ancient olive groves, offering spectacular views over the Lucca plain. Climbing gently towards the foothills of the Pizzorne Plateau, the landscape changes progressively, giving way to cool, shaded chestnut and oak woods. Avoiding the climb to the summit, you’ll join a mid-slope path that completes a beautiful scenic loop.

The path then begins to descend gently, offering glimpses of terraced vineyards set against the sky. The return walk ends right at Tenuta di Valgiano, one of Tuscany’s most acclaimed biodynamic estates. A stop here is a complete sensory experience.

The visit includes a mini-tour with an explanation of the vineyards, the history of the property, an introduction to the biodynamic approach, an explanation of the production process from vine to bottle, and harvest stories. This is followed by a short visit to the barrel room with an explanation of the woods used and a tasting in the villa or the outdoor garden, featuring:
